My ultimate career goal is help rural people to improve their
life quality through applied bio-physical, socio-economic, and
environmental research. Coming from a farm, I have always been
linked to the agricultural and rural sectors and my studies and
works have always focused in enhancing farming systems.
I have a B.S. degree and an Agricultural Engineer degree from
the Universidad
Nacional Agraria La Molina in Lima, Peru; a postgraduate
diploma in Administration of Agrarian Schools from the Association
Internationale des Maisons Familiales Rurales in Paris,
France; a M.S. degree in Agricultural Education and Communication
(Concentration in Farming Systems Research and Extension) from
the University of
Florida; and a Ph.D. degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology (Concentration
in Food and Resource Economics) also from the University of Florida
at Gainesville.
I have worked as farm manager, college professor, extension agent,
extension program planner, development project consultant,
graduate teaching and research assistant, postdoctoral research associate, and Assistant Professor. My work places have
ranged from the private enterprises to NGOs, and from international
agencies to universities. Currently, I am Assitant Professor and Extension Specialist in Dairy Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the Dairy Science Department.
